Spiritual Direction

If I have a Specialty, this is certainly it. The topic and conversation of spirituality is endlessly fascinating to me. The definition, purpose and path may differ for different people, but I find at the core it is the same goal: to live a life of meaning, value and purpose, to understand who we are and why we’re here. And if we’re lucky, find out “how it works.”

There are ideas and concepts of God, and there is the reality of God. And that is each person’s journey to discover what that word means to them. I call it Life and Love. Life somehow carries me forward, even in my darkest moments. Life and Love somehow find an answer for me. I always survive and I always thrive, even if I don’t see that in the moment. I say “somehow” because that is the mystery of God. How did that happen? How did I know what to do? How could something so wonderful and unimagined just show up, right when I needed it? That’s the fun part.

And that’s what God is so good at.

Our part is to keep showing up, keep believing in our own goodness, our own value, talents and gifts, and trust that if we can somehow (there’s that word again) keep going, we will find answers, happiness and fulfillment in our lives. That is a life worth living.
