How People Change
I’m always curious to see who will "do it" and who will be stuck in old behaviors,
beliefs and attitudes after one of our hypnotherapy sessions. Why do some people achieve
their goals and others struggle endlessly? I believe success is available to all. No one
is smarter, better, brighter, or more deserving. The universe looks with kind and gracious
eyes on all. So what’s the catch? So many times I’ve seen clients coming in
to s hypnotherapy session wanting to change, ready for things to be different and yet seem
stuck in old ways of being.
There’s a term we hypnotherapists use called ’surrendering, letting go.’ It
sounds simple, and in a way, it is. Let things be different now. Let "you" be different now. The
mind loves familiarity, continuity and comfort. The idea of change, even good, empowering,
healthful change, can be seen as a threat to the subconscious mind. It wants to know what’s
happening every step of the way, and be able to identify what happens next. To create is to not
know. You have to be willing to step into the unknown, live in the mystery, and somehow, someway,
trust that life will be better on the other side.
Surrender to a process that can only unfold one day at a time. You hold your desire in your heart,
say yes, and take that leap of faith. Let it be. "I’m willing to live a new life." Trust Life
to show up, and guide you on your journey, one day at a time. The first step is always a yes.
